Bernstein Shur Presents at New England Craft Brew Summit with Timely Legal Insights

On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the Maine Brewers’ Guild hosted its eighth annual New England Craft Brew Summit in Portland, Maine. The Summit is the premier, business-to-business conference in New England for the craft beer industry, bringing together owners, operators, vendors, and professional service providers for a day of learning, collaboration, and networking through workshops and other events.

As members of Bernstein Shur’s Food and Beverage Industry Group, Shareholder, John Moran, co-leader of the Business Law Practice Group, and Shareholder Adam Prescott, of the Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group, presented a workshop in the morning, entitled: “Brewing Success: Financial Recovery Options and Value-Maximizing Exit Strategies”.  John and Adam were joined by Matthew Brash, Senior Managing Director of Newpoint Advisors Corporation. The workshop highlighted legal and financial trends in the craft beer industry, discussed ways to identify signs of financial distress and ways to solve them, and explained the ins and outs of business restructuring, including through bankruptcy.

Bernstein Shur’s Food and Beverage Industry Group represents clients in all sectors of the food and beverage and hospitality industries, from suppliers and manufacturers, to packagers, brokers, and distributors, to retailers, restaurants, and hotels, and to guilds and other trade associations. The Group helps its clients with launching, scaling, and exiting their businesses successfully – and all things in between.
