Three Bernstein Shur Attorneys Elected to Shareholder

Dec. 29, 2022 – Bernstein Shur is pleased to announce that three of the firm’s attorneys have been elected as new shareholders, effective January 1, 2023.

“Evi, Conor and Tara bring broad, cross-functional expertise to Bernstein Shur,” said Joan Fortin, CEO. “We are fortunate to have them here with us as talented attorneys providing excellent counsel to their clients, and as leaders helping us build towards a successful future, both for our clients and the firm.”

Eviana Englert (she/they) is an attorney with Bernstein Shur’s Litigation practice group and Workplace and Campus Investigations & Consulting group. Evi has a diverse practice, including environmental and mass tort litigation, multi-agency federal investigations, Title IX investigations, labor and employment litigation, food and beverage matters, and federal civil rights actions. They hold a J.D. from Vermont Law School and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. Evi is admitted to practice in the states of Maine and New York, the United States District Court for the District of Maine, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Conor Shankman (he/him) is an attorney with Bernstein Shur’s Litigation and Construction practice groups. Conor specializes in construction-related issues (everything from front-end contracting to tail-end dispute resolution) and has experience in complex commercial litigation across multiple industries, including real estate and data privacy. He is admitted to practice in the state of Maine and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and holds a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation, and Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. in Film from Vassar College.

Tara Walker (she/her) is an attorney with Bernstein Shur’s Labor and Employment practice, providing counsel and representation to employers throughout northern New England. She has a breadth of experience in litigation involving public and private clients from a wide range of industries. She is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, the state of Maine, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the state of Alaska. She holds a J.D. from Tulane University Law School, an LL.M. from Central European University, and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
