Legislative Wrap Up with the Portland Chamber of Commerce

Bernstein Shur, in partnership with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce, hosted an informative update on the recent ME legislative session at Portland House of Music this past June.

The comprehensive panel discussion highlighted the many issues still to be worked on in the 2020 session, including labor, tax, energy, and the environment. The event showcased, in a relaxed setting, the important dynamics of this legislative session and the impact it had on businesses in the Portland region and beyond, as well as the new political dynamic under Governor Mills. And, despite areas of disagreement, the panel discussed the new era of collaboration between the Legislature and Governor.

Kate Knox and James Cote from the Legislative and Political Practice Group served on the panel, along with Senate Majority Leader, Troy Jackson, Senator Heather Sanborn, Assistant House Majority Leader, Representative Ryan Fecteau, and Assistant House Minority Leader, Representative Trey Stewart. Quincy Hentzel, CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce moderated the discussion.
