Join the 21st Century Lawyer Women Bar Leaders Forum on Wednesday, April 6 from Noon to 1:15 p.m. Central (1:00 – 2:15 p.m. Eastern) for a conversation with women bar leaders from across the country. In this dialogue, these women leaders will address how their bar associations are responding to the needs of their members and smaller affiliate chapters, creative ways to elevate and engage members, and what they see as the biggest challenges and opportunities on the horizon in meeting member needs, and how they are meeting those challenges and opportunities.

The program is free but you must register.

 

SPEAKERS:

Shiloh Theberge, Board President of the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations, is co-chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Bernstein Shur and practices in numerous areas of labor and employment law, including employment discrimination and harassment, family and medical leave, disability accommodations, whistleblower retaliation claims, and wage and hour matters. Shiloh also defends institutions of higher education and other schools in employment and student Title IX cases. Shiloh has served as Board President of the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations since September of 2021.

Hon. Elizabeth White, President of the National Association of Women Judges, retired as a Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court in July 2020 after serving 23 years on the court. She was assigned to serve as a Justice Pro Tem of the California Court of Appeal, 2d District from February – March 2004, and again in March – June 2020. Her judicial career started in the then Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1997, and she was elevated in 2000 upon unification. She will be joining JAMS in November 2020 as an arbitrator and mediator.

Kathleen Wilkinson, President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, is a civil litigator and partner at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP, is the 127th President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) and the 6th woman to hold this position. In 2013, Wilkinson was the 86th Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the oldest and one of the largest metropolitan bars in the United States, the 6th woman to do so. She is also the first woman to have held the positions of Chancellor and President. Wilkinson was a member of the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents from 2013 to 2016, and remains an active member of NCBP Committees.

MODERATOR:
Johanna Schiavoni, National Conference of Bar Presidents Executive Council Member, Co-Chair DEI Committee, was the 2020 President of the San Diego County Bar Association, which served nearly 10,000 members. She also is a past president (2013-14) of Lawyers Club of San Diego, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is dedicated to advancing the status of women in the law and society. Johanna is a certified specialist in appellate law, and her practice at California Appellate Law Group LLP focuses on representing large companies, closely-held corporations, small businesses, and individuals in high-stakes appeals and writs in state and federal courts.
