VERIFY: Yes, your employer can fire you if they require the COVID-19 vaccine and you refuse to get it
Attorney Tara Walker was featured in a recent segment on News Center ME following announcements from ME’s two largest hospital systems requiring vaccinations for hospital staff. Tara, alongside recent guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) addresses whether an employer could legally fire those who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine. “Employers can mandate vaccines which means [people] can be fired if they fail or refuse to get vaccinated,” said Walker.
