Shareholder Kai McGintee Elected to Bernstein Shur’s Board of Directors

Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (June 21, 2021) – Bernstein Shur announced that Kai McGintee has been elected by her colleagues to serve as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. McGintee has been appointed to a three-year term and joins other board members D. Sam Anderson, Kevan Lee Deckelmann, Robert J. Keach, Katherine R. Knox, Hawley Strait and CEO and Chair Joan Fortin.

McGintee is a Shareholder in the Labor and Employment Practice Group and Chair of the Workplace and Campus Investigations & Consulting Practice Group. Her practice focuses on representing and counseling educational institutions on all aspects of employment and student matters. McGintee is a sought-after external investigator in sensitive and high-profile misconduct cases throughout the country. She has conducted and overseen hundreds of investigations involving sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other improper conduct and is often engaged as a consultant and trainer on Title IX matters and frequently presents on this topic throughout New England and across the country.

McGintee is recognized in Chambers USA© for Labor and Employment in ME, and in Best Lawyers in America 2021 for Employment Law – Management. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law, and her B.A. from Davidson College. McGintee is licensed to practice in the States of ME, New Hampshire, Vermont, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the Districts of ME and Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
