Fred Lipp to Speak on Transnational Business Alliances at ABA Annual Meeting

Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (August 1, 2014) – Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced Fred Lipp, shareholder and co-chair of the Business Law Practice Group, will speak August 10th at the 2014 American Bar Association Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.

Lipp’s speech will cover transnational business alliances and diversification platforms including Bernstein Shur’s Lex Mundi membership, creation of affiliate Broad Arrow Mundial, LLC and membership of the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce. He is speaking along with Janis Nordstrom of Foley & Lardner LLP, who will also share her global experience.

Lipp, a shareholder and member of the Business Law Practice Group since 2000, focuses his practice on the handling of transactions for corporations, financial institutions, non-profit foundations, and private families in the U.S. and internationally. During more than two decades as a business attorney, Lipp has led the privatization of ME’s wholesale liquor business, developed strategies for key M&A ventures, and furthered the interests of both multi-generational enterprises and NYSE-traded companies.

A resident of New Gloucester, ME, Lipp earned his JD from the University of Maine School of Law and his BA from Bowdoin College, magna cum laude. He is chair of the MSBA International Practice Section. In 2012 Lipp received the Sumner T. Bernstein Award reflecting the firm’s highest honor for pro bono service.
