Corporate Attorney Frederick Lipp Supports U.S. Agricultural Companies in Cuba

Frederick L. Lipp, a corporate attorney and shareholder in Bernstein Shur’s Business Law Practice Group, supported U.S. agricultural clients and delegates in Cuba during January 2024.  The U.S. Department of Treasury permits the export of food and natural commodities to Cuba.  For example, the USDA reported $295M in U.S. poultry sales to Cuba in 2022.

As part of the delegation’s objective to broaden sales to Cuban companies, Lipp, a fluent Spanish-speaker, presented a program translated as: “International Business: Strategies for Cuban Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.”

Lipp commented on the experience: “Cubans are vocal and hopeful about the country’s growing free market.  The current poverty and infrastructure decay in Cuba are tragic.  I sense a broad-based commitment to a new chapter for the country.”
