Bernstein Shur Welcomes Eric J. Langland

Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (October 30, 2018) – Bernstein Shur, a leading New England based law firm welcomed Eric J. Langland as an associate to the firm’s Portland office.

Langland joins the firm’s Business and Tech, Outsourcing and Data Security Practice Groups. Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Langland was senior in-house counsel at Lidl US, a German retailer with over 10,000 stores in 28 countries. His practice focuses on compliance with EU and US data privacy laws, in addition to negotiating and drafting licensing agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, and other contracts.

Prior to that, Langland worked in Germany at Airbus Defense and Space and at the German Council on Foreign Relations. After graduating law school in 2010, Langland was a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. Langland earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School, his Master of Science in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and his B.A. from Westminster College. He holds the CIPP/US and CIPP/E certifications by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
