Bernstein Shur Launches Media and Marketing Practice Group
To meet emerging business demand and deliver world-class counsel in the evolving and heavily regulated space of marketing and advertising, Bernstein Shur announced Monday the launch of its Media and Marketing practice group.
The group of four attorneys, led by shareholder Kevan Lee Deckelmann, has deep experience in a wide range of industries including retail, technology solutions, mobile telecommunications, and broadband.
The attorneys in this practice are already working with clients to help them navigate their creative ideas before publication. Their skill and training give them unique insight and ability to scrutinize digital and traditional marketing to steer away from false or misleading claims in violation of the Lanham Act, state, and federal consumer protection laws, as well as regulations promulgated by the FTC, FCC, and FDA.
“As our world shifted from print and broadcast to celebrity, non-celebrity endorsements, texts, emailing, messaging and all that, our business had to evolve and move quickly,” Deckelmann said.
Counsel areas of expertise:
- Influencer marketing
- Marketing disclosures
- Product labeling issues, including “green,” “natural,” and “Made in USA”
- Social and digital media
- Subscription and sweepstakes marketing
- Targeted text messaging
- Traditional advertising
