Bernstein Shur Attorney Andréa Johnstone Shortlisted for Employment Lawyer of the Year Award

Portland, ME and Manchester, NH (January 25, 2012)—Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, is pleased to announce that Andréa Johnstone, shareholder and co-chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, has been shortlisted by Chambers USA for Employment Lawyer of Year, one of its  Women in Law awards.

The Chambers USA ‘Women in Law’ awards honor the outstanding achievements of women lawyers in their chosen practice areas. Johnstone is one of 11 women shortlisted for the award. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on February 2 in New York.

Johnstone is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, American Bar Association and National Human Resources Association. She serves as chair of the Children’s Alliance of New Hampshire and also chairs the Human Resources Committee of the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association. She is a volunteer mediator with the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights. Last year, Johnstone was named New Hampshire Employment Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers In America and was honored as an Outstanding Woman In Business by the New Hampshire Business Review. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk in the New Hampshire Superior Court. Johnstone received her JD from Hofstra University School of Law and resides in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
