Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (March 30, 2021) –Bernstein Shur is pleased to welcome Casey McCullen as an Associate to the firm’s Portland office. McCullen joins the Real Estate Practice Group, where he will focus on real estate, energy and environmental, construction and development matters.
Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, McCullen was an associate at Thompson Hine, a Cleveland, Ohio headquartered law firm. While there, McCullen represented national financial institutions in a variety of real estate financing transactions for commercial and multifamily residential properties. In addition to traditional real estate finance projects, McCullen also has experience with tax credit finance projects supported by low-income housing, historic, and new markets tax credits.
McCullen was a law clerk for the ME Superior Court where he assisted York County Justices Wayne Douglas, John O’Neil, Jr., and Arthur Brennan. He also served as a Post-Graduate Fellow for Judge Timothy McCormack in the 8th Appellate District for the Court of Appeals of Ohio.
McCullen earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a B.A., cum laude, from Franklin & Marshall College. He is licensed to practice in ME, Ohio, and Massachusetts.
