Bernstein Shur Names Merrill to Lead Manchester Office

Manchester, NH and Portland and Augusta, ME (November 1, 2019) – Bernstein Shur, a leading New England based law firm, announced that Jim Merrill has been named Managing Partner of the firm’s Manchester office.

Merrill, recently elected equity shareholder by the firm, is one of the Granite State’s most widely respected public affairs professionals. In addition to his new role leading the Manchester office, Merrill also serves as New Hampshire State Director of The Bernstein Shur Group, where he uses his extensive public affairs experience as part of a bi-partisan public affairs firm to provide strategic, grassroots, legislative and communications solutions for political, non-profit, real estate, energy, telecom, healthcare and education clients engaged in complex matters.

An attorney who began his career as a real estate and land use lawyer before focusing on a legislative practice and public affairs consulting, Merrill served as a staff member to former New Hampshire Governor Stephen E. Merrill for over two years, and has served as a Senior Advisor to several presidential campaigns. Born in Manchester, Merrill has lived in the city’s North End since 2002 where he resides today with his wife and two children.
