Law Firm Bernstein Shur Welcomes Associate Tristan Birkenmeier

Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, welcomed its newest associate, Tristan Birkenmeier, to the firm’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group.

Birkenmeier’s practice will focus on business restructuring and insolvency proceedings, including chapter 11 reorganizations, asset sales and acquisitions, and bankruptcy-related litigation.  Birkenmeier is based in the firm’s Portland, ME office.

Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Birkenmeier was a judicial extern for Hon. James B. Haines, U.S. Bankruptcy Chief Judge, D. Me. and judicial extern for the ME Eighth District Court. Birkenmeier also served as a student attorney at Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic.

Birkenmeier earned his JD from the University of Maine School of Law where he graduated cum laude and received the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal for excellence in bankruptcy studies, and earned his undergraduate degree from Boston University. He is admitted to practice in the state of ME.
