Title IX Investigation / Litigation Legal Assistant
Bernstein Shur is seeking a Title IX Investigation/ Litigation Legal Assistant with 2+ years of experience. This is a great opportunity to join a growing and thriving practice group. The Title IX Investigation/ Litigation Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to a team of dynamic attorneys with busy practices.
This is a highly visible and responsible position reporting to three or more attorneys in the education team and labor and employment practice group; specifically Title IX attorneys. Attorneys in this practice area investigate complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-based violence including stalking, domestic violence, dating violence, and intimate partner violence. The Title IX investigation/ legal assistant must have the ability to juggle more than one project at a time. Organization, communication and flexibility are keys to this position. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, knowledge of the law, administrative capabilities and client services skills. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2010 and have the ability to learn the firm’s document management system. This position is an integral part of the law team and adds to the profitability and success of the team and firm.

- Knowledge of document management software
- Knowledge of legal communication, principles, practices and research techniques
- Familiarity with legal terminology
- Knowledge of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act 1973, and related statutes, regulations, and executive orders
Education and Certifications
2+ years of experience, AS Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Human Services preferred.
