Here’s why you’ll enjoy working with her.
With an extensive background in political communications, including earned and paid media, legislative affairs, and advocacy campaigns, Mary-Erin provides clients with the comprehensive campaign management and strategic communications consulting services they need to achieve their long-term goals.
Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, her most recent role in the Maine state legislature included advising the Speaker of the House on strategic priorities and creating complementary communications tactics, tracking and monitoring legislation, and maintaining strong relationships with elected officials to advance policy initiatives. She has also closely partnered with members of the state legislature, the Mills Administration and public and private sector stakeholders on many pieces of legislation across multiple committees of jurisdiction. In addition to her political expertise, Mary-Erin also has a deep knowledge of the nonprofit sector and its related policy and advocacy issues.
A dedicated consultant who gets to the heart of the matter, Mary-Erin’s experience and deft perspective helps clients create and execute successful plans—all while preparing for what lies ahead.
But that’s not all. Mary-Erin is also very experienced in:
- Communications
- Media Relations
- Speechwriting and copywriting
- Grassroots lobbying
- Political Campaigns and Advertising
In her former life, Mary-Erin was:
- Communications Director and Senior Policy Advisor to Speaker of the Maine House Sara Gideon
- Advocacy and Public Relations Manager to the Maine Association of Nonprofits
- Executive Director for the Maine Democratic Party
- Media Director and Media Buyer for a progressive political consulting firm in Washington, DC
When Mary-Erin isn’t working, she is…
Spending time with her husband, two young children and a (mostly) well-behaved goldendoodle. They can be found exploring and enjoying the great outdoors no matter the season.
