Here’s why you’ll enjoy working with him.

Casey focuses on all manner of real estate, energy and environmental, construction and development matters. Having worked on sophisticated, high-volume real estate projects across the U.S., Casey has special expertise in complex debt structures involving multiple sources of financing and supported by low-income housing, historic, and/or new markets tax credits. He also has significant practical project management and business experience that allows him to seamlessly manage multiple moving parts to ensure smooth closings and effective outcomes for clients.

Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Casey was an associate at Porter Wright Morris and Arthur LLP, and later at Thompson Hine LLP as a member of their real estate finance team, where he acquired an in-depth business and real estate acumen along with experience with financing transactions and closings.

Casey also served as a law clerk for the Maine Superior Court where he assisted York County Justices Wayne Douglas, John O’Neil, Jr., and Arthur Brennan. While there, he gained a practical understanding of Maine law and the myriad of issues facing Maine residents, which he leverages in his daily practice.

In his former life, Casey was:

  • An Associate at Thompson Hine LLP, based in Cleveland, Ohio
  • An Associate at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, based in Cleveland, Ohio
  • Law Clerk for Justices Wayne Douglas, John O’Neil, Jr., and Arthur Brennan of the Maine Superior Court
