In this session, Glenn Israel will provide a legal update on the most recent developments in federal and state law related to labor and employment, and what you need to know.

2:00 – 2:30 The 5 Most Difficult People You Will Encounter in Workplace Investigations and How to Deal with Them

Kai McGintee & Amber Attalla will focus on the strategies for interacting with different types of witnesses in workplace investigations to meet the overall objectives of gathering information, responding appropriately to findings and taking preventive measures to optimize future workplace conduct.

2:45 – 3:30 Health and Welfare Benefits Update – New Rules, New Guidance and What 2020 Could Bring

Molly Gilligan will give an overview of new rules and guidance for Health and Welfare Benefit plans developed by the Departments of Labor, HHS and Treasury over the past year and will consider what may be coming in 2020.

3:30 – 4:15 The Good, the Bad and the Unbelievable: True Stories – and Lessons Learned – from the Workplace

Ann Freeman & Peter Herzog will walk you through some real life examples HR professionals face every day, and will provide insight and guidance in navigating thorny employment issues that often do not present an obvious solution.
