Also a member of the firm’s Business Restructuring & Insolvency group, she works closely with creditors, debtors, and fiduciaries to handle complex bankruptcy and financial disputes.
A former Senior Trial Counsel with the US Department of Justice, Emma has handled high-stakes, high-dollar value federal litigation, often involving extremely complex legal issues. With experience managing public-facing, complicated cases at the federal level, Emma brings a balanced perspective, rigor, and stoicism to every matter.

Who she is off the clock
A lifelong Mainer, Emma is deeply committed to public service and previously served as the Legal Director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine. She is currently a board member of the Casco Bay Trail Alliance, an organization working to create a long-distance multi-use trail connecting Portland, Lewiston/Auburn, and Brunswick. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her in her garden or walking in the woods with her husband and treeing walker coonhound.
