Bernstein Shur is pleased to announce that Greg Wiessner has joined the firm as Senior Counsel in the Business Law Practice Group.

Wiessner brings more than 20 years of experience advising companies, boards, and executives on complex corporate legal matters. He joins Bernstein Shur from WilmerHale in New York, where he was a Senior Governance and Disclosure Attorney.

At WilmerHale, Wiessner advised clients ranging from newly public companies to S&P 50 corporations on a broad spectrum of sophisticated issues, including Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, corporate governance frameworks, investor relations, executive transitions, mergers and acquisitions, and compensation programs. He also authored thought leadership materials on SEC filings, cybersecurity, and IPO issues.

Before WilmerHale, Wiessner spent more than 15 years at WEX Inc., a global fintech company that provides financial technology solutions for businesses and employees. He rose through the ranks from staff attorney to Senior Vice President, Corporate and Legislative Affairs and Assistant Corporate Secretary, playing a key role in guiding WEX following its launch as a public company. He was part of the management team that led WEX during its global expansion, scaling from $250M to $1.8B during his tenure, and was instrumental on strategic communications during major transactions and executive transitions.

“Greg’s extensive background advising companies at every stage of growth makes him an exceptional addition to our team,” said Kaveri Subbarao Nauhaus, CEO at Bernstein Shur. “His experience at the intersection of law, governance, and business strategy will provide tremendous value to our public, private, and non-profit clients.”

Wiessner holds a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Maine.
