PORTLAND, Maine, March 12, 2026 — Bernstein Shur is pleased to welcome Shareholder John H. Doyle, an experienced business attorney who brings a track record of advising sophisticated clients on high-stakes transactions and strategic growth.
Doyle is a pragmatic, entrepreneurial corporate and transactional attorney who partners closely with executives, boards, founders, and investors to navigate complex business challenges. Known for his steady counsel and strategic instincts, he advises clients on matters that shape the trajectory of their businesses—from corporate governance and risk strategy to financings and acquisitions.
Before joining Bernstein Shur, Doyle practiced in the corporate group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, one of the world’s leading technology and growth-company law firms. There, he represented emerging and established companies in sophisticated corporate finance transactions and strategic M&A. He later served as in-house general counsel to early-stage technology and pharmaceutical companies and held senior roles in Maine state government, giving him a rare, firsthand understanding of how businesses operate in both private and public-sector environments. Most recently, John was a partner at a regional law firm, where he advised companies on corporate governance, risk mitigation and long-term acquisition transactions.
“John has operated at the highest levels of corporate practice and brings that experience directly to our clients,” said Kaveri Subbarao Nauhaus, CEO of Bernstein Shur. “He combines top-tier firm experience with in-house executive insight and public-sector leadership. That breadth of perspective, paired with his business-first approach, makes him an extraordinary addition to our firm.”
Doyle’s addition strengthens Bernstein Shur’s business practice group and reflects the firm’s continued investment in attorneys who make a meaningful impact by serving as trusted advisors—helping clients navigate pivotal moments, capitalize on major opportunities, and sustainably achieve growth objectives.
“I’m excited to join Bernstein Shur and help provide clients the best representation possible,” Doyle said. “The firm’s broad base of expertise, collaborative culture and expanding geographic presence made this a natural next step.”
Doyle is based in Bernstein Shur’s Portland office.
