Portland, ME – November 13, 2025 – Bernstein Shur is pleased to announce that Tracy J. Roberts, Esq., CHC, CHPC has joined the firm as Senior Counsel with the Business Law Practice Group. Based in Bangor, she will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Maine and New Hampshire.

Roberts brings more than 15 years of experience guiding organizations through the complex regulatory landscape surrounding compliance and privacy. She most recently served as Vice President of Compliance and Privacy for Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, where she served as a member of the executive team and provided leadership and oversight of the compliance and privacy program including licensing, accreditation, and risk management initiatives.  Prior to moving to the hospital setting, Tracy worked at Northern Light Health at the system level and was involved in the planning, execution, and oversight of its compliance and privacy program.

Before entering law, Roberts was a licensed social worker, an experience that grounds her legal work in a deep understanding of people, process, and mission. That perspective—combined with years of executive leadership in compliance—positions her as a trusted advisor to clients operating in highly regulated environments, including those in the healthcare, banking, and financial sectors. She partners with organizations to strengthen compliance programs, protect data privacy, prepare for regulatory reviews, and solve operational challenges with clarity and pragmatism.

“Tracy’s experience working with highly regulated organizations—and her proven ability to translate complex regulations into practical strategies as well as develop smart frameworks to mitigate potential risk—make her an invaluable addition to our team,” said Kaveri Subbarao Nauhaus, CEO of Bernstein Shur. “She knows how to help clients navigate regulations without losing sight of their mission.”

Roberts began her legal career in estate planning, fiduciary services, and elder law before transitioning to compliance leadership roles. She holds certifications in Health Care Compliance (CHC) and Health Care Privacy Compliance (CHPC), credentials that reflect her dedication to integrity and operational excellence.

She earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law and her BA in Social Work, summa cum laude, from the University of Maine.
