Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (July 28, 2021) – Bernstein Shur is pleased to welcome Amanda Methot as an attorney to the firm’s Portland office.
Methot will join the firm’s Municipal and Governmental Services Practice Group, where she will focus on a wide variety of tax increment financing, land use and town attorney matters.
Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Methot worked for the City of Portland’s Housing and Community Development Division as a Compliance Officer where she developed processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal grant funding. While there, Methot served as a liaison between the city and affordable housing developers. She also worked for the City of Auburn as an Economic Development Specialist where she collaborated with various types of developers on TIF options and grant funding to meet their projects’ financial needs. Prior to her career in legal and municipal work, Methot was a clinical social worker at a practice in Saco.
Methot earned a J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, a Master of Social Work from the University of New England, and a B.S. from Endicott College. She is licensed to practice in the state of ME.
