Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (June 7, 2017) – Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced that Robert J. Keach has been elected by his colleagues to serve as a member of the firm’s board of directors. He has been appointed to a three-year term and joins other board members Joan Fortin, Jim Keenan, D. Sam Anderson, Katherine R. Knox, Kevan Lee Deckelmann, COO Julie Watson Boehme and CEO Pat Scully. Keach last served on the board in 2009.

Keach, a shareholder and co-chair of the Business, Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group, is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a Past President (2009-2010) of the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is also the co-chair of the ABI’s Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11.

Keach focuses on the representation of various parties in workouts and bankruptcy cases, including debtors, creditors, creditors committees, lessors and third parties acquiring troubled companies and/or their assets. He has appeared as a panelist on national bankruptcy, lender liability and creditors rights programs, and is the author of several articles on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights appearing in the ABI Law Review, Commercial Law Journal and ABI Journal, among other publications.
