Prentice Brings Deep Real Estate Law Knowledge to Firm

Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced the addition of Richard D. Prentice to the firm’s Real Estate Law Practice Group. He joined the firm’s Portland, ME office as a shareholder.

Prentice is a highly-skilled real estate attorney who brings more than 35 years of experience to Bernstein Shur. His practice focuses on development, complex project structuring and strategy, purchase and sale transactions and commercial leasing of all kinds, including retail, office and industrial.

Prentice adds considerable depth and a fine professional reputation to the group. He is rated in Chambers USA and listed in Best Lawyers in America. He is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers, NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) and a board member of ME Real Estate & Development Association. Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Prentice was a partner at Pierce Atwood, based in Portland, ME, and a partner at Drinker Biddle and Shanley LLP based in New Jersey.

Prentice earned his J.D. from Fordham University Law School and his A.B. from Dartmouth College. He is admitted to practice in ME, New Jersey and New York. He is a resident of Yarmouth, ME.
