Bernstein Shur Welcomes Labor and Employment Attorney Peter F. Herzog

Portland and Augusta, ME and Manchester, NH (November 9, 2015) – Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced the addition of Peter F. Herzog as an associate attorney in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. He joins the firm’s Portland, ME office.

Herzog’s practice focuses on all areas of labor and employment law, providing counsel and representation to employers throughout New England and the mid-Atlantic. He counsels employers on federal and state leave laws, wrongful termination, wage and hour laws, restrictive covenants, workplace harassment discrimination, and other evolving labor and employment issues. Herzog has successfully defended a variety of businesses against claims involving restrictive covenants, discrimination and retaliation, and alleged wage and hour violations. He has represented clients in arbitration, as well as before numerous state and federal courts and administrative agencies.

Prior to joining Bernstein Shur, Herzog was an employment attorney at the Portland, ME offices of Fisher & Phillips LLP and Littler Mendelson, P.C., two of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms. Before law school, Herzog served as a surface warfare officer in the United States Navy stationed on warships based in Gaeta, Italy and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Herzog earned his JD from Boston University School of Law and his BA from The George Washington University. He is admitted to practice in ME and Massachusetts. Herzog resides in Scarborough, ME with his family.
