Second Annual List Ranks Data Security Work Impact

Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced that Dan Mitchell, shareholder, has been named to BankInfoSecurity’s “The Influencers 2014” for his work on the PATCO construction case.

BankInfoSecurity is part of Information Security Media Group, a company focused on reporting information technology risk management. Selections were made from interviews, news and input from the ISMG board of advisors. The list represents impact in 2013 and the anticipated impact the individual or organization will have in 2014. This is the second annual list of financial services security leaders to recognize individuals and organizations that are critical in shaping the future of information security and privacy.

Mitchell, based in the Portland, ME office, is chair of the Data Security Team and a member of the Business Law Practice Group and Litigation Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of data security and privacy including guidance before and after data breach events, transactional representation in commercial dealings where data plays a significant role, commercial disputes, products liability, broker-customer securities disputes, personal injury and medical malpractice litigation, ERISA and RICO. Mitchell also represents various defendants in complex asbestos litigation throughout New England.

Mitchell is admitted to practice in ME, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He lives in Scarborough, ME.
