Kai McGintee, shareholder and member of the firm’s Education Practice Group, will be speaking at the Sports Lawyers Association 2016 Annual Conference held May 12-14, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. She will be part of a panel discussing “Off Field Athlete Conduct Issues: Sexual & Domestic Violence” and will be speaking specifically about Title IX investigations involving student-athletes. The other participants in the panel will be Heather McPhee, Associate General Counsel of the NFL Players Association who has represented Tom Brady and Ray Rice, Adolfo Birch, Senior Vice President of Labor Policy for the NFL, and Allison Rich, Associate Athletic Director at Princeton University. The panel will be moderated by ESPN journalist Jane McManus.
McGintee is an experienced Title IX investigator and specializes in investigating sexual violence complaints. She serves as a neutral, external investigator to colleges, universities and private secondary schools throughout New England. McGintee was recently hired by Bowdoin College to serve as the College’s outside Title IX investigator and Davidson College as an appeals officer in sexual misconduct cases. She frequently speaks to schools on the topic of sexual misconduct and investigations.
