Membership Recognizes Work in Alternative Dispute Resolution

Manchester, NH (October 10, 2012) – Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced the appointment of attorney and shareholder  Edward “Terry” Shumaker to the New Hampshire chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

The National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals is an association of mediators and arbitrators working in the field of civil and commercial conflict resolution. NADN was established in 2008 to serve the growing demand for attorneys specializing in alternative dispute resolution, and has more than 800 members with chapters in 45 states. Membership is invitation-only and evaluations are based on peer-nominations and client interviews.

Shumaker is a skilled mediator and arbitrator, and has litigated and mediated for more than three decades in both the private and public sectors. He serves as a panel arbitrator and mediator for the American Arbitration Association, the U.S. District Court, the New Hampshire Superior Court, the New Hampshire Public Employee Labor Relations Board and the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights. He is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell and recognized by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America for his work in labor and employment law.
