Bernstein Shur Receives Top Rankings from Chambers USA
June 16, 2009

Bernstein Shur has been chosen by Chambers USA as a leading law firm in all five areas of practice rated by Chambers USA in Maine (Real Estate, Corporate: M&A, Litigation, Environmental, and Labor and Employment) and in Labor and Employment and Litigation in New Hampshire.

The Chambers USA recognition is significant as it is a result of independent research and interviews with clients and peers to impartially gauge performance and rank top attorneys and firms throughout the United States.

Chambers gave Bernstein Shur’s Corporate/M&A/Bankruptcy,  and Real Estate groups the highest ranking for Maine, noting that the “[Corporate/M&A/Bankruptcy] team sits comfortably at the top of the market” and that although “real estate has slowed down as a sector, [Bernstein Shur] is still claiming a good proportion of work including leases, purchases, leasing, acquisitions and divestitures.”

In addition, twenty-one of Bernstein Shur’s attorneys were ranked as leaders in their field. Robert J. Keach received a “Star Individual” rating for his Corporate/M&A: Bankruptcy work, the only Maine attorney to receive the distinction in that area.

Receiving “Band One” distinction in Maine were John Carpenter for Corporate/M&A; Jeffrey Thaler for Environmental; Linda McGill for Labor and Employment; Peter Rubin for Litigation; Charles Miller for Real Estate; and Eliza Cope Nolan for Real Estate: Timberland/Conservation. For New Hampshire, Andrea Johnstone received “Band One” ranking for Labor and Employment.
