He has represented plaintiffs and defendants ranging from small businesses to publicly traded companies regarding a wide range of commercial legal issues, including complex contract disputes in state and federal courts. In addition to commercial matters, Travis has litigated boundary disputes, represented children who have suffered injuries caused by lead poisoning and represented other personal injury clients.

Travis’s health care practice centers on matters of licensure and license defense before Maine’s professional licensure boards. Travis is adept at advising clients on ways to navigate the intricacies of the complaint process before Maine’s professional licensure boards. He also advises clients on a wide array of ethics and practice issues.

Travis’s representative health care matters include:

  • Licensure and license defense of health care professionals, including physicians, psychologists, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dentists, social workers, LCPC’s, pharmacists and physical therapists.
  • Defense of clients involved in state or federal investigations, including HIPAA complaints investigated by the federal Office of Civil Rights.
  • Counsel to providers and agencies on ethics and practice issues, including the disclosure of protected health information, HIPAA, subpoenas, duty to warn situations, and recovery for impaired health professionals

Travis brings a set of diverse skills and experiences to his practice. For nearly ten years, he worked as a firefighter and EMT in different Maine communities. He is also a certified social studies teacher in Maine and has taught in South Africa and the Marshall Islands.
