PORTLAND, Maine - Bernstein Shur, one of northern New England’s largest law firms, announced today that its attorney and managing shareholder, Charles E. Miller, was chosen by the Lex Mundi Board of Directors to serve as North America Regional Vice Chair of the Lex Mundi Managing Partners Committee. Lex Mundi is the world’s leading association of independent law firms.
In his role as Regional Vice Chair, Miller will help guide the committee’s purpose of connecting Lex Mundi Managing Partners around the world and providing a forum where they can share best practices, develop strategies and enhance relationships with both clients and other Lex Mundi firms.
In addition to being Bernstein Shur's managing shareholder, Miller maintains a multi-state practice that incorporates all elements of real estate law, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, leasing, management and development of real estate. He also focuses on business planning, including asset and stock sales and purchases, investment banker selection, formation of partnerships and other business structures, entity planning, and strategy and succession planning.
A resident of Portland, Miller is actively involved in many civic organizations, including the Jewish Community Alliance, The Maine Bar Foundation and the Muskie Fund for Legal Justice.
Mr. Miller received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine in 1979, a Master’s in Education from the University of Maine in 1973, and an undergraduate degree from Colby College in 1969.
