PORTLAND, Maine - Julie Watson Gerard has been appointed the Regional Vice Chair for North America of the Lex Mundi Executive Directors Committee.
Gerard, who is the Executive Director at Bernstein Shur in Portland, will serve a two-year term. Lex Mundi is the world’s leading association of independent law firms with members in 160 countries, states and provinces.
Bernstein Shur is the exclusive Maine member of the organization, giving the firm and its clients access to the resources and expertise of other member firms throughout the world.
A resident of Brunswick, Maine, Gerard joined the Bernstein Shur in 1991. She is a 1982 graduate of the University of Maine and earned her CPA certification in 1985. Gerard is originally from Limestone, Maine.
As Bernstein Shur’s Executive Director, Gerard is the Chief Operating Officer and the highest-ranking non-lawyer at one of northern New England’s largest multi-service law firms.
In addition to being involved in Lex Mundi, Gerard is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and serves on the Board of Governors of the Maine Society of CPAs.
